This week…no…this month has been crazy. Here are some updates.
I finished, and submitted, my wind symphony piece. I don’t want to say much else as the competition is anonymous and I don’t want to breach any confidentiality. But I am thrilled with how the piece turned out. It’s something I’m really proud of.
I also presented in the composition recital on Wednesday (11/30). I conducted a piano quintet ensemble live-to-picture. This is the first time that a film was screened with live music at Nazareth. I only showed a short, 30-second film that I did with an RIT student. But it was a big experiment and risk that paid (or should I say ‘played’) off well in my opinion. I hope to show another film next semester. But this time it will be longer and much more complicated.
There were two RIT films I was working on this semester; one 5-minute horror film and one 2-minute action film. I finished the horror short and I’m currently polishing up the action one. I’m glad to say that I’m truly proud of these projects. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post them publicly anytime soon, but I’m excited to have them on my portfolio. I also hope that the animators enter them into festivals as these animations are phenomenal.
