Hey y’all!
It’s been a wild and busy summer. Let’s review.
I started the summer off with a month-long study-abroad trip to Italy. I am absolutely in love with this country and its beautiful cities. When I wasn’t exploring, I was studying Italian history and culture. It was a great kick-off to the summer season.
After coming home, I started working at KMAC again. I’m assisting with the summer camps and piano classes again. In addition to that, I’m also teaching some composition workshops. I’ve had a lot of fun being back in this second home of mine and I’m so grateful to be able to come back, each summer with more opportunities.
As far as composition goes, I just completed my submission for the Indie Film Music Contest. This is a new competition for me, and I have really enjoyed my experience. I highly recommend this to any composer working to practice their film scoring on high-quality films. There is a submission fee, but you get access to all 4 films (you can only submit one without paying again) and can work on them in your free time as well. I’ve started working on one of the others and a side work when I need a break from other projects. Too bad I can’t tell you what those other projects are. 😉
Until next time. Hopefully, more consistently.
