Goodbye Finale

Name a better way to start the semester than having Finale call it quits. I know one! Maybe that doesn’t happen?
I have been a Finale user since I started writing music (so about 6/7 years). This big announcement came as a surprise and at a rather inconvenient time. However, I do want to take advantage of the situation and look on the bright side. I decided to get the Dorico crossgrade. I am intrigued to try out this new software. From what I’ve learned so far, multiple features are exciting for me. Though I’ll admit that I’ve been living in denial using solely Finale 27 and will continue to until the semester is over.
Speaking of school, we’re now in week 5, and I couldn’t be happier in the program. All my classes have pushed my perspective and creativity to new lengths. There are some assignments that I’m considering posting. I’ve been proud of what I’ve come up with and want to share a little insight on what film scoring classes look like. I love challenging myself in each cue and then getting to revise based on the feedback. This is a whole new level of film composition study for me.
Until next time,
Rita Veneziale
