Chernobyl et al.

It’s a big day. Well…a big weekend!
Tonight is the premiere of Chernobyl, my orchestral work that won Nazareth University’s X Annual Composition Competition. The Nazareth University Orchestra will be performing it tonight, alongside the aria/concerto competition winners and works by Bizet and Elgar.

ANOTHER big event this weekend is my senior composition recital. This hour-long recital will be a highlight of my work as a composer. The program features work for solo piano, saxophone, string quartet, big band, and film. My friends and I have worked hard to prepare this program, and I couldn’t be more grateful to share the stage with them. You can tune in tomorrow on the Nazareth University livestream.
As for compositional progress, it’s been rather slow. I’ve spent a lot of time preparing for recitals, performances, and other professional developments and my creativity has run a bit dry recently. I’m very excited to bounce back after this rather exciting, yet strenuous, weekend.
Until next time,
Rita Veneziale
