Week 5

Welcome to March, everyone! It’s the start of the next ending concert season here at Naz. Well, that’s not exactly true. Concert season has started for me and it will end by May. If I had to choose one word to describe my practice right now, it would be Mendelssohn. I’ve already “passed” one of the Song Without Words pieces (#4 – Confidence to be exact), and I am now playing 3 more and the symphony orchestra is performing one of his violin concertos next Sunday. It is the end of week 5 and I have learned so much music and there’s so much left to learn.

Anyway, there hasn’t been much of a change in my composition pieces. The Chopin piece is on its way to the relative major section. My choir piece is still being tweaked. I’ve been bringing it to my lessons and I just may have put in too many melodic ideas. They flow nicely together but there just isn’t enough repetition. Easy fix, and honestly could mean less or more work, depending on how much I hate it before tweaking.
