New Series!

In case you haven’t heard, I have decided to start a new video series. This series is all about me writing a new piece. To be completely honest, I don’t really have a set process for how I compose. And this series is completely raw. I have no clue how this piece will come up or what I’m going to do with it. However, I have a feeling it will be a big part of the new project I’m working on. Remember, this series is only on TikTok with the #writeapieceseries. I’m open to all suggestions and I hope you enjoy the process!

The Chopin piece is coming along nicely and I’m having a lot of fun writing it. It’s fairly simple to play, which is good because I will have to perform it in my composition recital. I just finished the 32 measure A section and I’m now moving onto the B section. I have the chords all laid out so I just to find a good melody to go on top. The key to writing like Chopin is appoggiaturas, and maybe a bit of moodiness.
