Goodbye Sophomore Year!

The semester has finally ended…ugh.

This has definitely been the hardest year of my college career…there are only two to choose from so it’s not a fair statement, but you get what I’m saying. From what I’ve heard, sophomore year tends to be the hardest for any music major, mainly because of music history. I also thought that this year's pushed me more than last. My piano rep was much more difficult, I wrote more music, took more classes, and participated in more extracurricular activities. Oh, and I can’t forget that I completed my first internship. So even though I may have overloaded my schedule with academics, activities, and jobs…I somehow got better grades?

I wish I could share with you all the music from this past semester. However, I only have permission to use my films in my portfolio, and not on my public accounts. This is a normal thing for film students since they can’t have the film online if they plan to submit it to film festivals and competitions. But I am just excited to have had the experience and glad I can show off this film on my portfolio in the coming months. I also have a few pieces that I wrote that won’t premiere until next year…so you’ll have to wait for that ;). The videos I will be posting to my account are my semester piano recital and ‘Devotion’ live performance, so stay tuned. In the meantime, the performance of ‘But What of That?’ from the Women Composers Workshop this semester is on my YouTube NOW! 

Well, a little information before I go; I will not be posting much for the next month (or maybe I will idk). Next week, I will be leaving for Austria to study music history in Salzburg and Vienna. I am so excited! I will be abroad for 3 weeks, and I will be sure to take lots of photos to share when I get back.
