The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Hey y’all,
We’re nearing the end of the semester, and it’s kicking my butt.
I just finished my two films for RIT. I think they came out great and I’m really happy with the final score. I don’t think I’ll be able to share them publicly out of the filmmaker's request, but I will be able to use them for my private real.
I’m also finishing up a collaboration that I’ve kind of kept a secret. A friend of mine is taking a cello literature class for his performance major and asked me to write him a piece for his final. We’ve had a really great experience working together and finding the right style that he wanted. I think the piece came out super cool. I definitely would have never written something like this if I was never asked to. I can’t wait to hear him play it, but I think it will take some time because we made it a little hard.
Tomorrow, I will be playing in the composition recital. I’m premiering the first movement of my piano sonata. I finished it about two weeks ago, which is about the same amount of time I’ve had to learn it…but we’ll see how it goes. Fingers crossed all goes well.
In terms of academics, I’m finishing up my big projects for the semester. I just turned in my big research paper for music history and it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I really just have to get through finals week, which seems like it’s going to be rather easygoing. I have a lot of take-home finals and final projects. I really only have one traditional final this semester, and it feels kind of weird.
Anyway, hears to the light at the end of the tunnel!
