'Exordium,' by definition, is the beginning of anything. I had written this short piece as a prelude to this EP. Its original title was 'Prelude in A Minor," however, the more I worked on the piece, it didn't feel like the prelude I once imagined. In fact, as this EP came together, a prelude didn't fit the rest of the lineup. So this 'prelude' piece became the beginning of my anything.

     'Devotion' may be familiar to you if you follow my Instagram. This is probably one of my favorite pieces on this EP. 'Devotion' was the inspiration to create 'Simplicity Collections.' I was working on this piece, and I thought that I can't release it by itself. It was too beautiful, and I felt that it wouldn't get the attention it deserved if it stood alone.

     'Downpour' is probably the most contemporary of the 4 pieces. When I started this piece, I had not intended to write this piece the way I did. I had actually struggled to make a 'pretty rainfall' piece. I started messing around with different patterns to try and pull myself out of my writer's block, and that's when the piece became darker than before. And I liked it! 'Downpour' takes the listener through 4 stages of a rainstorm: drizzling, light rain, thunder, and a harsh, windy downpour.

     'Aurora' may also be familiar to some of my social media followers. You may know 'Aurora" as the Northern Lights. As much as I would love to say that 'I was so inspired by the colors, that I wrote this piece to capture it,' that's not true. I picked the name for the piece. I just thought that it had such a bright and airy feel to it, that there was no better name than 'Aurora.'
